What is there to do around the NoMad Hotel?

The better question is what isn’t there to do around the NoMad Hotel. The hotel itself is a hub of entertainment and energy in the NoMad (North of Madison Square Park) neighborhood. The area is packed with restaurants, shops, nightlife and a fair number of businesses from design studios and startups to venerable financial institutions. The hotel is a mix of upscale bohemian chic style. The lobby is a dark and sexy space with a 200-year-old fireplace flown in from France, and where candles and velvet upholstery set the tone. In the rooms, mahogany writing desks, dressing screens and claw foot bathtubs facing the windows aim for an up-market Parisian apartment vibe and succeed. The restaurants feature dishes conjured up from chef Daniel Humm’s kitchen. The Nomad Bar is a destination in itself and featured in guides below like ‘Fun & Games in NoMad’. It’s run by Daniel Humm and serves up one of the best burgers in the city. In just a few block radius you have restaurants like Eleven Madison Park, Maysville (an American whiskey bar), upscale Italian joints like Maialino, Upland and La Pecora Bianca as well as casual spots like noodle shop Wagamama, Hill Country Chicken (excellent fired chicken) and Num Pang Kitchen (Cambodian sandwiches) and high end cake boutique, Lady M, and The Flatiron Room known for it’s live jazz and flights of potent liquors. You are also just a short 5 minute walk to major attractions like Madison Square Garden the Empire State Building.

Love love love this! I had never been to NYC before but knew that I wanted to see some local spots in the village. I have already recommended several freinds check it out on their next visit!
