What is there to do around the Freehand New York hotel?

Formerly known as the George Washington Hotel, the property was once home to many storied writers, musicians and creatives. The latest renovations the hotel underwent were designed by Roman and Williams and featurs custom-commissioned artwork by Bard College students and alumni throughout. The hotel is a great place to stay and enjoy a drink in the heart of the Flatiron and Gramercy Park neighborhoods. The neighborhood is home to some of the restaurants in the city. From high end fare at Eleven Madison Park and Gramercy Tavern, upscale Italian - Maialino and Upland, casual spots like Penelope and Tipsy Scoop (think ice cream + alcohol) and ping pong club SPIN New York and classy bars and lounges like those at NoMad Bar and Clocktower the area is an amazing place to stay if you’re looking to be in the heart of Manhattan and steps away from all the best food.
