No trip or outing in New York is complete without three essentials; coffee, pastries and shopping. This guide explores some of the best spots for all three in Soho. Get started early and enjoy a full day of shopping and strolling along the streets of this world renowned neighborhood. There are tons of great shops to explore along Spring, Prince, and Broome in addition to all of the side streets that connect them. Explore to your hearts content and make this guide your own. I’ve outlined a few of my favorites that always have something unique to share.

Dominique Ansel Bakery

$$ French inspired bakery-cafe
189 Spring St, New York, NY 10012
(212) 219-2773

Dominique Ansel is the pastry chef and namesake behind this insanely popular cafe and bakery. There continues to be a ton of hype around this shop. Unlike with most overhyped spots this one delivers. Some of the most inventive and delicious sweets I’ve come across have been produced in this kitchen, including the Cronut. His half donut half croissant concoction is just layer after layer of sweet crunchy dough filled with the most delicious ganaches and jams (there is a new flavor every month). Get in line early, and if you can, go on a Weekday! There have been a ton of copycats but this is the original and this Soho shop is where it all began.

What Goes Around Comes Around

$$$ Vintage designer apparel & accessories for men & women
351 W Broadway, New York, NY 10013 (near Broom street)
(212) 343-1225

First stop on your shopping tour of Soho is "‘What Goes Around’. Vintage is always in and this shop is one of the best at bringing together exquisite vintage designer goods. The shop has been in business and in Soho since the 90s and is a staple frequented by tastemakers and celebs from all over the world.

$$$$ | High-end French brand offering a sophisticated collection of women's apparel, shoes & leather goods.
67 Wooster Street, New York, NY 10012
(212) 226-8001

Céline is one of those luxury brands that is virtually unaccessible online. Without an e-commerce site and let’s be honest even a working website, it’s a brand you have to experience in person and there are only a handful of boutiques around the country. The French label is minimalist and trendy and there store is exactly that.

$$$ | Up and coming leather apparel
271 Canal St floor 5, New York, NY 10013
(646) 448-4926

Veda is a young brand from Lyndsey Butler made famous for it’s leather motto jackets. The store was designed with the help of designer Michelle Zacks and is a long and narrow space that still captures the chill vibe of the brand. The ceiling is a unique focal point, lined with Persian rugs all sourced through ABC and through the Brooklyn Flea Market.

American Two Shot

$$$ | Trendy, designer women's & men's clothing | Industrial-chic shop
135 Grand St, New York, NY 10013
(212) 925-3403

American Two Shot is lifestyle boutique founded over five years ago. They sell a collection of unique designer items and accessories. The owners started the shop to serve as a creative space for their friends to hang out as well as being a store. In addition to clothes, knickknacks and cards the shop also has coffee bar / cafe and a photo booth.

$$$ | Iconic French brasserie | Classy space with red banquettes.
80 Spring St, New York, NY 10012
(212) 965-1414

Balthazar is a Soho staple. It’s been opened since the late 90’s and is a classic spot for delicious French brassier fare. Think Steak and Moules Frites for dinner and eggs florentine as well as ham and gruyere for brunch. In addition to the classic vibe there is the occasional celebrity citing to complete your perfect Soho outing.
