Whether you’re a local or a tourist visiting Times Square, there will be an option for you. I’ve spent over 10 years in this location and can attest that it’s the perfect place for an amazing night out. You initially think it’s going to be crowded, but the crowd moves fast and it’s easy to get from point A to B. This location is such a staple spot on the world map with over 300,000 people crossing through these streets a day. What’s more exciting than people watching and taking in the lights and magic of one of the greatest cities to exist. This guide is perfect for a family or date night.
Louis was born and raised in Detroit. After attending college at Syracuse, he moved to the city to work in the entertainment industry including roles at MTV and Nickelodeon. He is an exercise enthusiast and wellness nut! You can catch him riding his bike along the Hudson in the morning and boxing at night. Carmine's Italian Restaurant - Times Square
$$ | Bustling restaurant with enormous portions of traditional Italian dishes served family style.
200 W 44th St, New York, NY 10036
Make a reservation well in advance because this place gets booked up fast, and you will not want to wait up to two hours as a walk-in! The first stop is my favorite Italian restaurant right in the heart of Times Square; Carmine’s. The place is always busy but the service is fast. My favorite is the chicken parmesan. I also recommend the fried zucchini. These family-portion meals are huge and are meant to be shared. One meal is beyond plenty for two people, but for a family, picking two dishes should do. I shared a chicken parmesan with my wife, and the amount was enough for two dinners for the both of us. This will be - the best tasting, most filling experience, you ever encountered so be prepared for a level of euphoria following your meal.
Broadway Show at Brooks Atkinson Theatre
1,069-seat Broadway theater, built in 1926, that hosts a wide range of dramas, comedies & musicals.
256 W 47th St, New York, NY 10036
Three blocks north is the Brooks Atkinson Theatre, where the Broadway show “Waitress” is showing. It doesn’t matter where you sit in the audience; all the seats have a great view of the show. It’s an intimate space and the architecture is beautiful. If you’re a fan of any of the cast make sure you stick around afterwards- sometimes they come out after the show for a meet & greet.
Junior's Restaurant & Bakery
$$ | Cheesecakes are the star at this Brooklyn-themed locale with deli fare, BBQ, a full bar & patio.
1515 Broadway, W 45th St, New York, NY 10019
Given that the setting of this Broadway show is a diner, you will most likely be craving something sweet by the end of it. Just five minutes away is Junior's, a well known restaurant/bakery. I highly recommend heading here afterwards and grabbing a slice of cheesecake. The variety is huge and the place will not disappoint. It’s usually packed on Wednesdays and weekends so be prepared for the crowd but trust me, it will be worth it. You’re still in the heart of Times Square so the night will still be young and yours to conquer.
